What Services Does My Used Cadillac Need?

Cadillac Service

To keep your used Cadillac running smoothly, regular maintenance is crucial. Especially as a car gets older, its engine, oil lines, suspension, belts, and other important systems require ongoing care in order to stay in good working order.

Knowing when to take your pre-owned Cadillac into the shop, and for what, can seem daunting. There’s a lot to remember over all of those parts, their individual service schedules, and how they might experience wear over time. Luckily, the experts at Seiner Cadillac Salt Lake have compiled a list of common services your Cadillac will need throughout its life.

Every 5,000 Miles or 6 Months

To get the most life out of your Cadillac, you should bring it in for regular service every 5,000 miles or 6 months, whichever happens more often. Think of these regular maintenance visits like your semi-yearly health checkups at the doctor: we’ll go over the common problem areas of your Caddy, and top off the oil and fluids, replace any belts that need replacing, rotate the tires if need be, and generally tighten it up and get it ready for you to drive it for another six months or 5,000 miles.

Every year, or 10,000 miles

Every year you drive your Cadillac Escalade, XT4, XT5, or XT6, you should ask to get the front end aligned, throttle body cleaned, wiper blades replaced, and the brakes cleaned. Also, get your tires rotated if they weren’t at the six-month checkup – rotated tires wear more evenly and last longer.

Every other year

If it’s been two years since your fuel injector was cleaned, it’s time it gets a once-over by our technicians. Now’s also a good time to flush the power steering fluid, clean the fuel injectors, and if your Cadillac is equipped with a front differential, have that serviced.

And beyond

On average, people own vehicles for around five years before switching them out for a new one. As you continue to use your Cadillac from Seiner Cadillac Salt Lake, you can rotate out the above basic maintenance as needed throughout your ownership of the car. Of course, you can always ask our expert service technicians to give your Cadillac a closer look if you think it needs it. We’re happy to help!
